CPO SmartRides
The CPO Transportation and Fleet Services Program is transitioning in 2024 to become SmartRides, reflecting its commitment to being Safe, Multi-functional, Accessible, Reliable Transportation (SMART). This program continues to be a vital resource for student groups and projects dedicated to community service and social justice throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. Our fleet also supports essential UCLA campus services, making it easier for students to pursue their academic goals, with a focus on basic needs and commuter support programs.
Our transportation services provide a comprehensive solution that includes vehicle procurement, maintenance, regular vehicle detailing, fueling, and inspections. We also manage reservations, oversee accounting, and continuously evaluate the impact of the service.
Requesting SmartRides Transportation Services
The Community Programs Office (CPO) operates a fleet of over 25 vehicles available to undergraduate, graduate, and professional student organizations. The CPO offers these vehicles at a reduced rate compared to other campus rental options. You are encouraged to use the request form below at least 2 weeks in advance of your request. For urgent requests, please e-mail us at transportation@cpo.ucla.edu to request CPO owned sedans, vans, SUVs, Cargo Trucks, Shuttle Bus, ADA accessible shuttle, or Jitneys.
CPO SmartRides Study Hall Service
The Community Programs Office offers an evening Study Hall Service, designed to provide safe rides home for students who choose to study late on campus. Students who study for an hour at our evening CPO Study Hall can receive a ride home within a 10-mile radius. The CPO Study Hall takes place starting Week 2 of each quarter, Monday – Thursday from 8:30 PM – 12:00 AM, located at the CPO Basic Needs Collective Lounge and Computer Lab (SAC 121).
CPO SmartRides Extreme Commuter Van Service
The CPO Commuter Van Service provides safe rides home from the UCLA Student Activities Center for commuter students within an 11-35 mile radius. To sign up for a same-day ride, students should email their study list and completed Commuter Van Service Application to transportation@cpo.ucla.edu by 12:00 PM.

Please complete the Community Programs Office Identification Card Application to request 1) CPO SmartRides Fleet and Transportation Driving Privileges, and/or 2) CPO Office Access (Student Retention Center, Student Initiated Outreach Center, CPOSA Community Service Offices).
